The Florida minimum wage for hourly employees increased by $1.00 on September 30th, 2022, as part of Florida’s plan to raise the rate to $15.00 per hour by 2026. This minimum wage standard applies to all Florida businesses.
What Does This Mean for Employers?
Increase wages from $10 to $11 an hour for non-exempt employees
Increase overtime rate to $16.50 per hour
Increase hourly wages from $6.98 to $7.98 for tipped employees
The pay increase is a result of Florida residents voting for Amendment 2 in the November 2020 general election. The legislation updated Section 24 of Article X in The Florida Constitution.
